Things to know and remember when raiding with Slackers (everyone should read this before the end of their trial period)

Although Slackers is not a hardcore "serious" raiding guild, we want our raiding to be serious. This means that when we raid (i.e. those 2.5 hrs 3-4 times a week), we give our best, concentrate, focus, and push ourselves to progress.

Even in our slackercore environment, signing up in the event calendar is a commitment...if you sign up and don't show up, you are wasting other people's time. When people see that there is enough sign ups for the raid to happen, they prepare themselves - this includes the officers and raid leaders responsible for organising the raid AS WELL AS the other raiders - and expect to spend the next 2-3 hours with the group having fun, getting loot, and ofc wiping... your fellow raiders will be very disappointed if the "no shows" make the raid late or, in worst case scenario, not happen!

If you are put on standby when the raidspots are confirmed, please be online and ready when the raid strats as we might still need you!

If you have signed up and cannot for some reason make it, please let an officer know in good time either by ingame mail or via the website (a PM or even a shout in the shoutbox is always a good idea).

Go to the raid with a positive attitude. Negativity only breeds more negativity! Don’t sweat about the small stuff. Don’t cry over spilt milk. Don’t get pissed off if you wipe. Wiping is, and will always be, part of raiding and it is better to get used to it than let it ruin the game for you cos you are in a bad mood.

Respect others in the way that you also expect them to respect you. This means no blame games, "epeening" with dps meters, name calling etc. Remember that people come from different situations and have different RL things going on (e.g. school, work, parents, children, partners who don't play the game). We all have  different personalities, are different ages, and come from different cultures. Tolerating differences and keeping the atmosphere good is one of the prequisites of successful raiding.

And finally... avoid elitism! Be confident, but not pompous. If you notice people making mistakes, think of your role as someone who will help them rather than as someone who makes fun of them.

More practical issues about using vent, AFKs during raids, etc. can be found in Raiding: before during and after Make sure you read it before attending Slackers raids. Read also Tips for rapid raiding, which is useful especially for farm raids.
